Sheltered in the Baie des Anges by an amphitheatre of hills, the Italian charm of the capital of the Côte d’Azur is immediately apparent in the colourful baroque building of the old town. Your tour proceeds along the Promenade des Anglais. This splendid palm-lined boulevard is stretching 3 miles along the Baie des Anges. You will pass landmarks such as the legendary Negresco, an imposing hotel with a rococo façade. Then, driving past the Russian Orthodox Cathedral and its six onion domes which give an exotic touch to the Nice scene. Your drive continues passing Regina Hotel to Cimiez hill, a sophisticated part of Nice with many large villas. You will stop at the Franciscan Monastery, gardens and Roman areas.

Villefranche is a little fishing port and holiday resort encircling one of the most beautiful harbours in the Mediterranean, with a deep bay of 25-60m where cruise liners and warships can lie at anchor. The town has preserved its 17th century character in its port, citadel and picturesque streets lined with sherbet-coloured houses.

Tucked between Villefranche and Beaulieu, the lush vegetation and dramatic cliffs of the prestigious Cap Ferrat peninsula hide luxurious villas, including the spectacular villa Ephrusi. Some of the best views of the coastline can be seen from the Sentier du Littoral, the streets of St Jean and St Hospice point.

Eze is the perfect example of a perched village. Like an eagle’s nest, it clings to its rocky outcrop, towering 427m above the sea. Enjoy a walk in this delightful town closed to the traffic, and do not miss the magnificent views of the coast at the top as you stroll along the narrow stone streets.

By the middle corniche you will arrive in The Principality of Monaco.

A sovereign state overlooking the Mediterranean Sea between Nice and the Italian border, perfectly captures the essence of the Côte d’Azur with its rococo palaces, lush gardens, world-famous casino and glamorous royal family.
